Concept for a sort of specialized tug used for salvage and ship breaking work. There was some interest in my shading techniques, so I'll be posting a tutorial based on the creation of this image once I get it formatted and coherent.

great design work
The engines look great, as well as the appendages (reminds me of a crab or some sort of sea creature :) )
Is this ship designed for above or below surface travelling? At the surface it seems the engine would be out of the water, though sure it would not be too hard to make it work in both air and water, unless it uses its arms to paddle when it is on the surface :x

I would also like to know how you keep everything in perspective so well? do you draw on paper?
:iconzerreitug:
Awesome drawing  ! I never get tired of seeing all those small details all around the ship. Kind of mesmerizing after a while :O .
Ship salvage? that may require some very precise milimetrical engines in order to move around without crashing with all the debris :) .

It sounded like a good idea at the time.

good stuff

looking forward to it ^^ u definately have strong shading techniques

I invoke the Tooth Fairy Rule here for my steering and propulsion systems. ;)

Yeah, this was sketched out with a mechanical pencil then scanned in. I'll usually do a real light/sloppy sketch of the silhouette then throw a perspective box around it. Nothing too tight, just enough to hide my screwups. :D

I figure this is more of a near space/outer atmosphere kind of beast. Antigravity engines and that sort of tomfoolery. I'm thinking this boat is from the same universe as the heavy lifter and Piranha.

oh okay cool :)
I misinterpreted your description
