The macrophage of the city's circulatory system, the International HX-3 Heavy Lift Chassis has been adapted to wide variety of roles and configurations by the Engineering Department of the New Dresden Special Economic Zone (NDSEZ).

Here we see a high pressure pumper configured to resist both scavenger attacks and some of the more caustic biofilms. The South Trunk was constructed well before the introduction of the XT invader species, so much of the clearance work has to be done by manned units instead of remotes.

All pumpers in currently in service have been uparmored and fitted with additional security features following several ambushes of maintenance crews. It is speculated that these attacks are related to the urban legend that pumpers are sometimes used by paramilitary death squads as strike vehicles.
